How it works
Employees rate the roles they report to. Not people, roles. "Director of Engineering, Platform" at a company, scored 1 to 5, with tags.
The rules
Titles, not names. Every rating attaches to a job title in a department. Anything that identifies a person instead of a position gets rejected in review.
Tags, not text. There is no comment box. You pick from a fixed list of patterns ("Micromanager," "Takes credit," "Gives credit," "Respects time off") and how often. Every tag is an opinion about a pattern, never an accusation.
Five before it shows. A role shows nothing until five people have rated it. One grudge, or one fan, is invisible.
One rating per role. One account per phone number. Rate the same role again and it replaces your earlier rating.
Nobody gets a 5 for free. A 5 requires at least one leadership tag, so every top score says why.
Privacy
We sign you up with a phone number so one person gets one account. The number is deleted the moment the code is confirmed. We keep a one-way fingerprint of it so the same number can't register twice. We cannot turn the fingerprint back into a number.
Ratings have no author field. There is no link in the database from a rating to an account. Ratings are stamped by month, not by minute. Web logs are cleared daily.
We never ask for a work email, and nothing we send lands in a company inbox.
What we can't stop: a manager on a five-person team can count. A count is a guess, not a record, and we have no record to hand over.
Terms (short version)
Ratings are user-submitted opinions. NobodyGetsA5 does not author, verify, edit, or endorse them. Scores and heatmaps are arithmetic over those opinions by a published formula.
Employers cannot pay to respond to, edit, or remove ratings. A title that names or identifies an individual will be removed when reported. Nothing else is negotiable.
By using the site you agree not to attempt to identify any rater, not to create more than one account, and not to submit anything about a person rather than a role.
A full terms of service and privacy policy, reviewed by counsel, will replace this before launch.
